Charlene at AMFAR Gala in 2009

In January 2016 our co-founder Heaven identified this beautiful one-shoulder Giorgio Armani dress that Charlene Wittstock (now The Princess of Monaco) wore to the AMFAR Gala in 2009.

The 16th AMFAR Gala took place on May 21, 2009, in Antibes, France. The gala focused on fighting against AIDS and coincided with the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.

Over 800 people attended the event at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Other high-profile attendees included former American President Bill Clinton, Annie Lennox, Elizabeth Hurley, and Robert Pattinson among many others. Annie Lennox performed two of her hits, while the live auction was taking place.

The 16th annual event was presented by The Weinstein Company, Palisades Tartan, and Bold Films. It was co-sponsored by Chopard, Luxury Limited Edition, and Hewlett-Packard Company.

Charlene accessorized her navy Armani gown with a silver clutch, long earrings, and navy open toed heels.

At this point in her relationship with Albert II of Monaco, they were not yet engaged. Their engagement was announced just over a year later in June 2010.
