On Friday, President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi started a three-day state visit to Denmark. He was officially welcomed by King Frederik and Queen Mary at Christian VII’s Palace at Amalienborg. They watched a guard of honor from The Royal Life Guard on Amalienborg Palace Square.

Afterward, the Royal Couple and the President took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument for Denmark’s International Effort since 1948 at The Citadel in Copenhagen.

In his speech, King Frederik: “It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Denmark together with Queen Mary. Tonight we celebrate not only the first state visit from Egypt to Denmark but also your first state visit to Scandinavia. The ties between our countries go back a long way, and my own family has for several generations brought home good and lasting memories from your beautiful country. Not least my father, Prince Henrik, who had a great love for Egypt, which also became his last destination.A love that many Danes share once they have immersed themselves in the rich Egyptian nature, culture, and history.”

Queen Mary first wore a The Fold coat with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Susanne Juul headpiece. She paired the outfit with her Dulong Fine Jewelry earrings.

In the evening, Queen Mary wore a repeated gown with her Gianvito Rossi pumps. She also wore her new Rose-Cut Diamond Bandeau Tiara and her Bruun Rasmussen earrings.

Princess Marie wore a Jenny Packham gown with her Jimmy Choo pumps and her Bottega Veneta clutch. She also wore her Christine Hvelplund earrings with her Dodo charm bracelet. She paired the outfit with her Diamond Floral Tiara and her Trifari brooch.
