Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit's visit to Sweden - Day 1
Today, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit started their three-day visit to Sweden.
The Norwegian Crown Prince couple will be hosted by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel during the visit and they will stay at Haga Castle with the Crown Princess couple. Both couples took part in a photo session in front of Haga this morning before the official start of the visit.
Afterward, they went to the Karolinska Institutet where they attended the seminar “Norway and Sweden - stronger together than each for us.” During the event, both Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Prince Haakon made speeches praising their countries and their cooperation in many fields.
They also visited Kulturhuset where they attended a literature event with children and met agents and authors associated with NORLA (Norwegian Literature Abroad) and the Swedish Council for Culture.
Both couples then traveled to the Royal Castle where King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a private lunch in honor of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Prince Carl-Philip and Princess Sofia were also in attendance.
In the afternoon, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, and Crown Prince Haakon attended a networking event for the Swedish and Norwegian business delegations at the Norwegian Embassy.
In the evening, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit hosted a reception at Norra Latin for Crown Prince Victoria and Prince Daniel as well as both business delegations.
In their joint speech, the Crown Prince Couple said: “With music and culture, good food and nice people, we want to thank you for the warm welcome we have received in Stockholm, and celebrate the close relationship between us on so many levels. We are really looking forward to the next few days. And we hope that this visit will help strengthen our collaboration on topics that are important for our common future.“
For the day events, Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a new coat by Swedish brand By Malina with a new dress by Norwegian brand Pia Tjelta. She paired the outfit with her Malone Souliers pink pumps, her Prada clutch, and her Tom Ford glasses. She also wore her Venyx earrings and her Cartier ring.
Crown Princess Victoria wore her By Malina dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Miu Miu clutch. She paired the outfit with her CravingFor Jewellery earrings, bracelet by Engelbert and Sophie by Sophie, and her Epoch watch.
For the lunch, Queen Silvia wore her Valentino floral outfit and her Cartier bracelet.
For the lunch, Princess Sofia repeated a dress by Norwegian brand By TiMo with her Stinaa.J pumps. She debuted new earrings and a ring both by LWL Jewelry.
For the evening reception, Crown Princess Victoria wore her MaxJenny! dress with her Marzio pumps and a new clutch. She paired the outfit with repeated earrings, her Epoch watch, her Sophie by Sophie bracelet, and a new cuff with her monogram on it.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a vintage 60s dress handwoven in Sweden by Countess Ebba von Eckermann. You can read more about her fabulous life and handwoven work here. Crown Princess Mette-Marit paired the outfit with her Christian Louboutin pumps and her Chloé clutch. She also wore her Tom Ford glasses, new earrings, and her Cartier ring.
