Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit's visit to Svalbard - Day 1
Today, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit started their three-day visit to Svalbard.
The Crown Prince Couple first visited the Longyearbyen Public Library where they were welcomed by the Governor. There, they received a briefing on the situation of Svalbard today and they met many people who are volunteering in their community.
Afterward, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit visited the avalanche embankment that will protect the city from new avalanches and they met people who lost their homes during an avalanche in 2015.
The couple then visited the Longyearbyen youth club which opened last March where they met young people to hear about the club and its activities as well as their experiences living in Longyearbyen.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a new Utzon jacket (as confirmed by the brand) with a repeated grey top and black trousers. She paired the outfit with Smartwool socks, Topaz of Norway boots, and it seems like she carried her Céline clutch. She also wore her Cartier ring.
