The embassy complex was built when Berlin once again became the capital after the reunification of East and West Germany, and the embassies moved from Bonn to Berlin.  The anniversary was celebrated on the square between the five embassies with musical performances. Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Prince Haakon both made speeches.

The guests then toured an exhibition about the complex before visiting the section of their respective countries.
