Crown Princess Mary spends first day in Milan for Milan Design Week 2021
Today, Crown Princess Mary spent her first day in Milan as she takes part in Milan Design Week 2021. Milan Design Week is the world's largest annual furniture and design event, and this year Denmark is represented with an exhibition focusing on sustainability and circular economy in Danish design and architecture.
Crown Princess Mary first visited the Danish exhibition “The TrashFormation Village” at the Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo Da Vinci. During the visit, she was shown an example of a sustainable playground as well as an installation which is built of chairs made of plastic waste and wood designed by the Danish design studio Lendager Group.
Crown Princess Mary also had the opportunity to meet representatives of the Danish design companies that are exhibiting in Milan.
Crown Princess Mary then unveiled a portrait of herself made of recycled materials. The portrait is part of the project “Scart Initiative”, which consists of a series of portraits made from recycled material, and which is exhibited during Milan Design Week.
In the evening, Crown Princess Mary attended the In-genius Waste Ceremony. During the ceremony, she gave the opening speech and attended a panel discussion with Danish companies on innovative and effective circular solutions.
Crown Princess Mary wore her Marc Jacobs pink dress with a new Max Mara bag and her Gianvito Rossi python pumps. She paired the outfit with her Dulong earrings, Dulong & Orit Elhanati necklaces, and bracelets by Dulong, Cartier, Ole Lyngaard, and Rebekka Notkin. She also wore a Dulong ring.
