King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima make regional visit to Southeast Fryslân
Today, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima made a regional visit to Southeast Fryslân.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima first visited the Ecomunitypark in Oosterwolde as well as ECOstyle, a producer of sustainable pesticides, and the Biosintrum, where research is conducted into soil health, for example.
Afterward, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the sustainable cheese farm De Deelen where they toured the dairy farm and the cheese factory before meeting with young farmers to discuss the future of agriculture in Fryslân and the challenges they are facing.
The royal couple also took part in a school lesson of Frisian (Frysk) which is an official language at the OSG Education center. It is a compulsory subject in primary education and an optional subject in secondary education in the province of Fryslân.
To conclude their visit, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the sailing school De Veenhoop. They also sailed and watched the traditional Skutjesilen sailing competition.
Queen Maxima wore a new orange midi dress by Natan with light brown Gianvito Rossi suede pumps and a matching bag. She also wore her Fabienne Delvigne hat.
