Dutch Royal Family celebrates Koningsdag 2020

Today, King Willem-Alexander celebrated his 53rd birthday! Usually, Koningsdag is celebrated by the Dutch royal family in one Dutch city but due to the coronavirus crisis, the festivities in Maastricht had to be canceled.

However, the family still took part in several events throughout the day inside the Royal Palace. Queen Maxima and her daughters opened a virtual flea market. Maxima and Alexia also did an interview with a Youtube Channel while Amalia spoke with Dutch equestrian Anky van Grunsven. Willem-Alexander and Maxima also had a video call with healthcare professionals of the UMC Maastricht Hospital.

To conclude the day, King Willem-Alexander was joined by his wife and daughters as well as virtually joined by other members of the royal family to celebrate his birthday!

It looks like the family had a lot of fun today despite not being able to celebrate with the people as they usually do!

Queen Maxima wore a new floral jumpsuit by Seren with a white Natan belt and her Miu Miu red peep-toes.

Princess Amalia wore a yellow Lisa Marie Fernandez off the shoulder dress with matching ASOS wedges and earrings by SeeMe. All of SeeMe pieces are handmade by women survivors of violence. By wearing the heart, SeeMe clients join the #heartmovement, a worldwide movement that aims at replacing violence with love. She also wore a turquoise flower pendant from Friend & Company and she carried a bag by Marina Raphael.

Princess Alexia wore a white shirt dress with a black belt and black block heel sandals by Zara.

Princess Ariane wore a Zara blue lace dress which had been worn by her sister Amalia before and ivory Castaner wedges.
