Regal Review: The Wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary today and we’re taking a look today at the wedding’s fashion.
Following the ceremony, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge traveled through London to go back to Buckingham Palace where they appeared on the balcony to greet the huge crowd waiting for them.
The new Duchess of Cambridge wore a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen lace and satin gazar gown. The skirt and train also feature lace. She wore white McQueen pumps that were embroidered with lace. It was noted that Catherine wished to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterises Alexander McQueen's work. She wore the Cartier Halo Scroll Tiara - loaned to her by the Queen - with new earrings that were a gift from her parents.
The Countess of Wessex wore a Bruce Oldfield Couture embellished suit with a matching clutch custom made by Bruce Oldfield, Jimmy Choo Cosmic pumps and a Jane Taylor straw floral and feather hat.
Princess Beatrice wore a Valentino Couture blush pink coat and an embroidered dress with a pleated skirt. She paired the outfit with a Valentino clutch and Valentino pumps. She also wore a Philip Treacy bow hat.
Princess Eugenie wore a blue Vivienne Westwood printed outfit with Jimmy Choo Cosmic glitter pumps and a Jimmy Choo bronze clutch. She wore a Philip Treacy hat and Solange Azagury-Partridge earrings and rings.
Autumn Phillips wore a Sassi Holford grey printed coat which she paired with Emmy London grey embellished pumps and the matching clutch.
Zara Tindall wore a bespoke Paul Costelloe coat with Jimmy Choo navy pumps, a Philip Treacy embellished clutch and a Philip Treacy black flower slice hat.
Queen Sofia wore a custom made purple suit by Margarita Nuez. The then-Princess Letizia wore a custom made pink embellished Felipe Varela with matching pink satin peep toes by Magrit and a pink Pablo y Mayaya hat.
Queen Sonja wore a light pink coat with a red dress and a Lock & Co Lion Tamer hat in white. Queen Margrethe wore one of her classic blue outfits.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore an Elie Saab blue pencil dress with a blue waterfall drape blazer.
The then-Princess Maxima wore a two-piece Valentino lace outfit with a turban and Natan suede and PVC slingback pumps.
Crown Princess Victoria wore a Elie Saab draped dress with Elie Saab wood and suede shoes and a matching orange hat.
Crown Princess Marie Chantal wore a Chanel grey dress with grey Christian Louboutin Bana pumps and a grey floral hat.
Princess Charlene wore a custom made Akris coat with a matching dress. The hat and crocheted gloves were also made by Akris. She paired the outfit with a Akris horsehair clutch and Jimmy Choo pumps.
In the evening, The Duchess of Cambridge wore a custom made Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown made of white satin gazar with a full skirt and diamante embroidered belt worn with an angora bolero cardigan.
Princess Beatrice wore a Marchesa one-shoulder embellished purple gown. When she was spotted leaving the after-party, she was wearing Cath Kidston cherry printed plimsolls.
Princess Eugenie wore a red off the shoulder gown by Vivienne Westwood with her Jimmy Choo Cosmic pumps in nude patent leather.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel attended the party hosted by Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie Chantal in London. Victoria wore a Filippa K dress with Yves Saint Laurent sandals. She carried a Nancy Gonzalez silver clutch and Lara Bohinc silver drop earrings.
