On the occasion of Queen Margrethe of Denmark's 75th birthday, cheerful celebrations were held in Copenhagen. The Queen's sister, Princess Benedikte, wore a pink Wichmann Couture gown with the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Fringe Tiara for a gala dinner with foreign monarchs and royals. She wore her Order of the Elephant sash, the highest order of Denmark which she received in 1947.

The gala dinner was held on April 15, 2015 at Christiansborg Palace, just one day before the Queen's actual birthday on April 16. Guests dined on halibut, herb salad, scallops, lumpfish roe, beef tenderloin, cream cheese flan, and birthday cake. There was an assortment of other options for the guests to dig into, too.
Foreign guests included King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, and King Harald of Norway. There was no representative of the British Royal Family in attendance.
Unfortunately, Prince Henrik - the husband of Queen Margrethe - came down with the flu and was unable to attend.
Princess Benedikte is the younger of Queen Margrethe's two sisters. Her other sister is Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, who was also in attendance at the dinner with her husband, King Constantine.
