Queen Silvia visits Berlin with the World Childhood Foundation

This week, Queen Silvia visited Berlin, Germany, to mark the 25th anniversary of the World Childhood Foundation.
On Wednesday, Queen Silvia first met the President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender at Schloss Bellevue where an official lunch took place.

Afterward, Queen Silvia and the First Lady took part in a roundtable discussion with experts and politicians on children who are sexually abused and exploited.

On Thursday, Queen Silvia attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the future Childhood House in Berlin with representatives of the German Senate, Charité hospital, and Ein Herz für Kinder. Childhood Houses provide care and support for children who have been sexually abused with the help of a multi-professional team consisting of doctors, judges, psychologists, social workers, and others.

During the ceremony, Queen Silvia said: "Today's groundbreaking ceremony marks an important milestone: Together we are expanding the Childhood House Berlin to implement children's rights and to protect and support all those children who have to experience violence and sexual abuse! Child protection is a task that we can only accomplish together - it only works if we all take responsibility together."

On Wednesday, Queen Silvia wore a repeated outfit with her Louis Vuitton bag. She also wore her Cartier and Engelbert bracelets.
