Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume becomes Lieutenant-Représentant of Grand Duke Henri
On Tuesday, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume officially became Grand Duke Henri’s Lieutenant-Représentant, the first step towards Grand Duke Henri’s future abdication.
The Grand Ducal Couple and the Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple first attended the official signing ceremony of the Grand Ducal decree establishing the Hereditary Grand Duke as Lieutenant-Representative of the Grand Duke.
Afterward, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume took his oath before the Chamber of Deputies. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume said: “I am aware that today also marks a new stage in my personal life, for my wife and our children. We are approaching it together and with confidence. I am looking forward to now standing alongside the Grand Duke, as Lieutenant-Représentant, in the service of the country and its people and working in the best interests of Luxembourg.”
The Grand Ducal Couple and the Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple then hosted an official reception at the Grand Ducal Palace to celebrate Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume’s new role.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a Natan Couture dress with Natan pumps and a Natan clutch.
Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore a Natan dress with her Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and a matching navy suede clutch. She also wore her Chaumet ring and her Cartier watch.
