Queen Mary visits Brazil - Day 3
On Friday, Queen Mary spent her third day in Brazil where she attended events in Brasilia. She first met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Palácio do Planalto.
Afterward, Queen Mary visited a public school to learn more about Brazil's school meals programme. She also visited the Brazilian agricultural research institute in the savanna area of the Cerrado to hear more about the challenges and opportunities regarding agriculture's impact on biodiversity and the environment in Brazil.
In the evening, Queen Mary attended a working dinner at the Danish embassy in Brasília in her role as patron of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
