German Official Visit to Luxembourg - Day 1
On Monday, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender started a two-day official visit to Luxembourg.
They were officially welcomed by Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa at the Grand Ducal Palace. During their private meeting, the President received the Order of the Golden Lion of the House of Nassau.
They then visited the exhibition "1848 – Revolutioun zu Lëtzebuerg" celebrating the 175th anniversary of the revolution and the constitution of 1848 at the National Archives.
Afterward, the Presidential Couple was joined by the Grand Ducal Couple at the Chamber of Deputies for a meeting with members of the Youth Parliament and other members of youth associations in Luxembourg to discuss democracy and the rule of law.
In the afternoon, while the President and Grand Duke Henri visited the National Fire and Rescue Center, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa and Elke Büdenbender visited the exhibition "On Rape – histoire de la misogynie, Chapitre Deux". They also took part in a round table discussion with women and men committed to women's rights.
In the evening, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa hosted a gala dinner for the Presidential Couple at the Grand Ducal Palace with Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume in attendance.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa first wore a Carolina Herrera dress with her Prada pumps. For the visit to the National Archives, she changed into her Sergio Rossi pumps and carried her Sophie Habsburg clutch. She also wore Giorgio Armani sunglasses.
In the afternoon, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a Patou top with a black skirt, her Prada pumps, and her Bottega Veneta clutch. She paired the outfit with her MdeU earrings and her Monies ring.
In the evening, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a Natan pink gown with her Prada pumps and Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte’s Art Deco Sapphire Necklace.
