Queen Margrethe hosts New Year Receptions
Each year, following the New Year Gala dinner, Queen Margrethe hosts several New Year Receptions with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in attendance.
On Tuesday, Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, and Crown Princess Mary first attended a reception for Justices of the Supreme Court and the officer corps of the Royal Life Guard and the Guard Hussar Regiment at Christian VII's Palace.
Afterward, they attended a reception for chiefs of mission of the diplomatic corps and their spouses as well as side-accredited ambassadors and their spouses at Christiansborg Palace.
On Wednesday, Queen Margrethe was driven from Amalienborg to Christianborg Palace in the Gold Coach, escorted by the Guard Hussar Regiment’s Mounted Squadron.
At Christianborg Palace, she was joined by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary as she hosted a reception for Officers from the Defence and the Danish Emergency Management Agency, the I., II. and III. ranking classes as well as invited guests of major national organizations and royal patronages.
Queen Margrethe always wears the same gown for these receptions but she debuted a new gown this year. It was gifted to her by the Craftsmen's Association in Copenhagen for her Golden Jubilee in 2022. It now replaces the royal blue gown she received more than 25 years ago.
For the receptions on Tuesday, Crown Princess Mary wore her Birgit Hallstein top and Heartmade skirt with her Gianvito Rossi pumps, her Hugo Boss clutch, and her Dulong ring.
For the reception on Wednesday, Crown Princess Mary wore her Lasse Spangenberg gown and cape with her Gianvito Rossi pumps, her Hugo Boss clutch, and her Dulong bracelet.
