Royal Recap: September 5 - September 11

Welcome to this week’s Royal Recap where we’ll take a look at the events we weren’t able to cover fully this week!
On Tuesday, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde hosted a reception for heads of Belgian diplomatic posts at Laeken Castle as part of the contact days organized by the SPF Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Development Cooperation.

Queen Mathilde wore a Natan dress with Natan pumps and Tikli Jewelry earrings.

On Wednesday, Queen Mathilde took part in a bike ride for her 50th birthday project "Let's move forward together for mental well-being". She met with the staff and young people of the youth protection center "De Plek", disabled cyclists, and burn victims of the "Project Stichting Brandwonden".

On Thursday, Queen Mathilde visited Vaccinopolis in Edegem, the new R&D center for infectious disease vaccines.

She also addressed the heads of Belgian diplomatic postsduring the diplomatic contact days in her role as Advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals.

On Wednesday, Princess Märtha Louise opened the Veiviseren Dog School's new facility for the training of guide and service dogs.

On Thursday, Princess Laurentien opened the Taalfestival of the AanZet Library during the Week of Reading and Writing in her role as founder of the Reading and Writing Foundation.

Princess Laurentien wore a printed dress with Espadrij wedges.


On Thursday evening, King Carl-Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie attended a special Baden-Pellow Fellowship Recognition Event held on the occasion of the World Scout Foundation Board Meeting in Luxembourg.

Queen Silvia wore her Nina Ricci gown.

Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore an Emporio Armani dress with repeated blue pumps.


On Thursday, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa had a video meeting with the President of International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer whose term ends at the end of September.

On Thursday, Princess Marie attended the opening of Danish architecture studio Dorte Mandrup’s exhibition at Le Bicolore in Paris as Special Cultural Representative.

She wore her Ba&Sh dress with her Mauro Orietti Carella clutch and her Rolex watch.


On Friday, King Felipe and Queen Letizia went to the residence of the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Spain to present their condolences following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Letizia wore a repeated Nina Ricci dress (with thanks to Nuria) with her Möhel belt, her Magrit pumps, and her Giorgio Armani bag. She paired the outfit with her Gold & Roses earrings and her Karen Hallam ring.


On Sunday, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended a service of prayer and commemoration for Queen Elizabeth II at St Paul’s Anglican Church in Monaco.
