Grand Ducal Couple's State Visit to Portugal - Day 1
Today, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa officially started their two-day state visit to Portugal. The couple landed in Portugal on Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday,, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were officially welcomed by the President of Portugal at the Praça do Império square.
Afterward, the Grand Ducal Couple visited the St. Mary's Church to the Jerónimos Monastery where they paid tribute to the famous poet Luís Vaz de Camões.
Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were then welcomed by the President of Portugal at the Presidential Palace where they had a private meeting followed by a press conference.
In the afternoon, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa went to Lisbon’s City Hall where Grand Duke Henri received the Key to the City.
To conclude the day, the Grand Ducal Couple met with President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa once again as they took part in a tram tour of historic districts with the President as their guide.
In the evening, he President of Portugal hosted a gala dinner for Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.
For the arrival on Tuesday evening, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a new Valentino jacket with a white top, black trousers, and a Valentino bag.
For the first day of the state visit, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore her Alexander McQueen blazer with a navy top and navy trousers. She paired the outfit with her Prada grey pumps, a grey clutch, and repeated earrings.
For the gala dinner, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a new black gown with her Prada pumps.
