Queen Maxima makes official visit to the USA as UNSGSA - Day 1

On Wednesday, Queen Maxima started an official visit to Washington DC and New York City in her role as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Inclusion for Development. She spent her first day in Washington D.C.

Queen Maxima first met with the US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to discuss financial health and resilience.

Afterward, Queen Maxima met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgiev to talk about their respective initiatives for financial inclusion and future collaborations.
