Queen Letizia opens 41th International Contemporary Art Fair-ARCOmadrid
Today, Queen Letizia officially opened the 41st edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair-ARCOmadrid which takes place at Ifema-Madrid. King Felipe was supposed to attend the event as well but he had to cancel as he attended a National Security Council meeting on the Ukraine crisis.
The fair is one of the main platforms of the art market and an essential piece in the international circuit of promotion and dissemination of creation. This year, the fair is held again on its usual dates in February after being rescheduled later in the year in 2021 because of the pandemic.
Queen Letizia toured the different exhibitions showcasing the work of 185 galleries from 30 countries. This year, the fair aims to “unite past and future through galleries and their essential relationship with artists and collectors.”
Queen Letizia wore a new pinstriped suit by Inés Martin Alcalde (with thanks to Nuria) with her Magrit pumps and her Carolina Herrera clutch. She paired the outfit with her Karen Hallam ring and new Gold & Roses earrings (with thanks to Nuria).
