The Duchess of Cambridge spends last day in Denmark
On Wednesday, the Duchess of Cambridge spent her second and last day in Denmark as she makes a working visit with the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood.
In the morning, the Duchess of Cambridge visited the Forest Kindergarten in Copenhagen where she spent time with children as well as teachers and parents. She heard how Forest Schools in Denmark “ help kids develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a local woodland or natural environment with trees.”
Afterward, the Duchess of Cambridge was received by Queen Margrethe and Crown Princess Mary at Christian IX’s Palace.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Crown Princess Mary then walked through Amalienborg Square to go to Frederik VIII’s Palace, the Crown Prince Couple’s residence, where they had a private lunch.
In the afternoon, the Duchess of Cambridge and Crown Princess Mary visited the Danner’s Crisis Shelter for women which is supported by Mary Fonden, Crown Princess Mary’s foundation.
During the visit, the work of the Mary Fonden in supporting the children who seek refuge with their mothers in these shelters was presented. This includes 2000 backpacks distributed each year with toiletries, school items, and a teddy bear. They work as a tool to “get the children to talk about their experiences with the violence and the neglect they have experienced.”
For her morning engagement, the Duchess of Cambridge wore her Seeland jacket with a new Mark Kenly Domino Tan sweater (with thanks to Maria) and black jeans. She paired the outfit with her Blundstone boots and Liv Thurlwell earrings.
Afterward, she changed into a new Catherine Walker coat which she paired with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and Mulberry bag. She also wore her Maria Black earrings and Monica Vinader necklace.
Crown Princess Mary wore a repeated coat and dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps, Diane von Furstenberg clutch, and Dulong earrings.
