Belgian and Dutch Royal Couples visit flooded areas
As Western Europe currently suffers from heavy rains and storms causing tragic floodings, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands are currently amongst the most affected countries.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the province of Limburg to meet with the residents who had to be evacuated and suffered damage to their homes due to the huge floodings.
The royal couple also spoke to first responders who have been committed to evacuating people from threatening situations since Tuesday and taking measures to limit damage to roads, bridges, and buildings.
In Belgium, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the city of Liège who is one of the most affected cities so far. They met with residents who had to be evacuated to hear about their experience.
The royal couple also attended a meeting with emergency services who are doing their best to handle the difficult situation. They said: “Our thoughts are with the victims of the terrible floods currently ravaging our country. Thank you to the local emergency staff who are ready to help the citizens day and night.”
Queen Maxima wore her Massimo Dutti checked coat and matching trousers with Le Chameau boots. She wore the same bracelets as earlier in the day, including her Dinh Van bracelet.
Queen Mathilde wore a repeated Natan outfit with her Rolex watch.
