Crown Princess Victoria attends several events to mark World Ocean Day
Today, Crown Princess Victoria attended several digital events to mark World Ocean Day.
Crown Princess Victoria first took part in a digital webinar on the UN Decade for Marine Research. The UN has designated the years 2021–2030 as the decade for marine research.
In her pre-recorded speech, Crown Princess Victoria said: “If we expect people to take responsibility for the oceans - then we must also give them the conditions to understand. To understand how these sensitive marine ecosystems work, and why they are so important to protect. With knowledge comes understanding. And with understanding, we can bring about change. “
She first attended a digital meeting within the framework of the UN's development program UNDP's initiative Ocean Innovation Challenge. The meeting was also attended by Crown Prince Haakon.
In her opening speech, Crown Princess Victoria said: “Ladies and gentlemen: while the ocean is under enormous pressure, it is also full of treasures. Under the surface, along with a diverse array of marine life, lie unique opportunities for us to contribute to solving the great challenges of our time. Dear Ocean Innovators: It is gratifying to see the diversity and the tangible ambitions of your ideas, with solutions to one of the biggest threats to ocean health - marine pollution. "
For her first event, Crown Princess Victoria wore her H&M Conscious printed dress with her Kreuger earrings, Kreuger necklace and Epoch watch.
Afterwards, Crown Princess Victoria wore her Valerie white dress with her Dulong earrings and Dulong necklace.
