Regal Review: 2015 Spanish State Visit to Mexico - Day 1
Five years ago, King Felipe and Queen Letizia made their first state visit to Mexico as monarchs. They arrived at the Benito Juarez International Airport on the evening of 28 June 2015.
Letizia wore her Hugo Boss Fanuela dress with Adolfo Dominguez sandals, her Mbu Bag clutch and her TOUS earrings.
The visit officially started the next day, on June 29th, as King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended a memorial ceremony at Los Ninos Heroes monument.
Then they attended an official welcome ceremony hosted by the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, and the First Lady, Angelica Riveraat.
After the ceremonies, King Felipe and Queen Letizia met the mayor of Mexico City, Miguel Angel Mancera. They were made Distinguished Guests of the city and King Felipe received the keys of the city.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia then joined the President of Mexico and the First Lady for lunch at the Presidential Palace.
In the evening, the royal couple attended a dinner hosted by the President and the First Lady at the National Palace.
For the official welcome ceremony, Letizia wore a new green tweed Felipe Varela jacket over a green Felipe Varela dress. She paired the outfit with Magrit nude suede sandals, her Magrit clutch and TOUS earrings.
For lunch at the Presidential Palace, Letizia wore her Felipe Varela skirt suit with her Felipe Varela clutch, her snakeskin pumps and Folli Follie earrings.
For the evening reception, Letizia wore a new Felipe Varela one shoulder red dress with Magrit peep toe pumps and a coral Felipe Varela clutch.
