Spanish royal family attends 2020 Princess of Asturias Awards
Today, the Princess of Asturias Awards took place in Oviedo with King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofia, and Queen Sofia in attendance. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the award ceremony was scaled back.
In the morning, King Felipe and Queen Letizia and their children received the winners of this year’s awards in audience at the Reconquista Hotel. Not all winners were present as some of them couldn’t travel to Spain.
Queen Letizia wore her Carolina Herrera dress with bottle green suede pumps, her Elena C butterfly earrings and Karen Hallam ring.
Princess Leonor wore a white printed dress by Poète with new low heel pumps by Pretty Ballerinas. She also wore her mother’s Gold & Roses dragonfly earrings.
Infanta Sofia wore a new red shirt dress by Mango as well as Pretty Ballerinas pink ballet flats.
In the evening, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, their daughters, and Queen Sofia attended the ceremony at the Reconquista Hotel. This year’s winners are Spanish health workers on the front line against COVID-19 (Concord), Ennio Morricone and John Williams (Arts), Guadalajara International Book Fair and Hay Festival of Literature & Arts (Communication and Humanities), Dani Rodrik ( Social Sciences), Carlos Sainz Cenamor (Sports), Anne Carson (Literature), Yves Meyer, Ingrid Daubechies, Terence Tao and Emmanuel Candès (Technical and Scientific Research), Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (International Cooperation.
Both King Felipe and Princess Leonor made speeches during the ceremony and Princess Leonor handed out the awards.
Queen Letizia wore her Delpozo navy off the shoulder dress with her Nina Ricci navy suede pumps. It looks like she also carried her Magrit ‘Liz’ navy suede clutch. She accessorized with her Chanel earrings and Karen Hallam ring.
Queen Sofia repeated an Escada grey skirt suit.
Princess Leonor wore a champagne outfit with Elodie low heel leather pumps. Infanta Sofia wore a green dotted top with a green flowy skirt and new green ballet flats by Pretty Ballerinas.
