The exhibition aims to celebrate the Berber people and the profound influence they exercised in the Iberian Peninsula after their arrival in al-Andalus. In the eleventh century, it was the Zirí Berbers, from North Africa and governors of the Taifa of Elvira, who decided to establish their capital in Granada, decisively influencing their urban configuration. The exhibition will consist of donations from the Moroccan patron Laila Mezian Benjelloun.

After the exhibition and in conjunction with the Kingdom of Morocco, a large permanent Berber museum will be launched in the city of Granada, with permanent funds from this private collection, also in the Alhambra.
