Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway traveled to Poland in 2005. They were in the country from May 30 to June 1. The couple visited Warsaw and Krakow with stops at the Norwegian-Polish competence forum, Warsaw University of Technology Business School and a meeting of non-governmental organizations dealing with gender equality issues in Warsaw, according to the press release sent out at the time.
Haakon and Mette-Marit visited "Jagellonian University where many Norwegian students study medicine, meet representatives of the authorities, and attend a concert with Thomas Dybdahl," the Court said. They traveled with a business delegation that consisted of 58 people.
During the three day trip, the Crown Princess wore a light gray, silk Paule Ka coat, LK Bennett low heeled deep gray shoes and a dark gray clutch by the same designer. She wore the outfit on Norwegian Polish Forum of Competence on May 31, 2005.
This was the same day that they arrived at the Krakow train station where she was given a very large bouquet of blue, white, and pink flowers. That evening, she fell ill and was unable to attend an event at Krakow Town Hall alongside her husband.
At the time, Crown Princess Mette-Marit was around two to three months pregnant with her third child (and Haakon's second), Prince Sverre Magnus who was born on December 3, 2005. As a result, she was able to wear mostly non-maternity outfits on the trip as she only had a slight bump at the time.
The Crown Prince Couple traveled to Poland from Norway on the invitation of Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski.
