Heaven has discovered that, in 2014, Princess Marie wore a beautiful gray Rikke Gudnitz design for the New Years Court. The gown featured just a slight train and short, capped sleeves for the top. The design for the top was a lighter blue peplum over the smooth cloth covering the rest of the top and skirt.
She has worn the Danish Rikke Gudnitz designs many times before.
Princess Marie wore her Order of the Elephant collar, which is the highest order in Denmark. She wore her brunette hair up with the Diamond Floral Tiara. This is also the tiara she wore on her wedding day.
It is important to note that these banquets held at the beginning of each year are the only time that the collar is allowed to be worn of the Order of the Elephant. All other times the royals wear their sky blue sash.
Each year the Danish Royal Family attends various new year events with the New Years Court. This usually occurs on January 1. Two other banquets take place in the days succeeding the holiday. It is always held at Christian VII's Palace at Amalienborg in Copenhagen. Invitees include government officials and other notable and influential people from around the country.
