We might know her better now as Princess Sofia but back in 2012, she was simply Sofia Hellqvist. Prince Carl Philip's then girlfriend was already a fixture in royal events by May 2012 and was invited to Princess Estelle's christening at Stockholm Palace . 

Sofia Hellqvist had been a royal girlfriend for 2 years but was not yet a fiancee so she was sat in the crowd with other friends and associates of the Crown Princess couple. The future princess arrived with Chris O'Neill, future husband of Princess Madeleine. 

Sofia wore a dress by New York based brand Tibi for this special occasion. Sofia had lived in New York so it's possible she became familiar with the brand during her time there. You can get a copycat of this dress now through our partner blog Dress Like a Princess here. 

Just over 4 years after the above pictures were taken, in September 2016, Sofia's own child Prince Alexander was christened in the Royal Chapel at Drottningholm Palace. Crown Princess Victoria was chosen to be a godmother to the little boy.
